If you're like me, you always have a bunch of feathers lying around your apartment and you're constantly looking for ways to craft with them. But if you're a normal person, you can always find a bunch of feathers at your local craft store and buy them only when you already have something in mind that you need them for. Anyway, here's an easy headband tutorial...
What you need:
- 2 or 3 feathers
- 1 elastic headband or strand of elastic that's just long enough to tie around your head
- needle and thread
Start out by attaching one feather to your headband with a needle and thread. Carefully stitch into the elastic and around the stem of the feather, and keep the elastic stretched out as you stitch up the stem. You should only need to add a couple of stitches for it to be secure. Stretch out the elastic fully to see where your next feather should go, and then attach that one. The feathers should overlap just a little, and you can trim them a little if necessary.
You can add more feathers if you'd like or just leave it as is. It's that simple! And now I have a few less feathers just lying around...
