What I Wore

Over the course of setting up my vintage shop, I have to make some decisions about photos. But I could use some help, so that's where you come in.

I have some photos that are just on a plain white background and some where they're styled differently. I'm definitely including both types in the other image listings, but I want some consistency on the main page. I think I like a split between the two for the main image.

But there's also something to be said for simplicity. Or I could just use one image on the main page. What do you think?

  1. I'm not sure if I'm understanding the choices right... but I think I like the split white background/styled background for the main image.

As a buyer, I think I'm more apt to click on the listing if the dress is being worn. If only because clothing looks a little limp on a hanger. I appreciate the consistency of the white background though so a split between the two might be a best of both worlds situation. Just my opinion!

    Nice styled pictures, btw :)

  2. I personally like the idea of just one image, the one of you wearing the dress, should go on the main page! They look appealing and I'd rather click on that than on the one of just the dress! :)

  3. we had this issue when we started stocking our shop, too. i prefer the look of simple and white backgrounds when i'm browsing vintage shops, but you really can't get a feel for some clothes unless you see it on. plus, it is so fun to go out and style things in new ways and i love blogging about it after.

that dress is so pretty - if i were you, i'd keep it!

Leave a note! I love to hear from you!
