Hallway Rut

I've been in kind of a blogging rut lately. I have a lot of ideas, but none that I can make work at this moment. My motivation has gone out the window, and there are so many other things to do that I just haven't been able to sit down and put any effort into blogging.

So now I'm going to get all metaphorical and junk. I just moved into a new apartment and I have this really long hallway that goes nearly the whole length of the apartment. I can't figure out what I want to do with it, but I know there must be something to make it look way less boring.

For a second, I thought taking pictures in this hallway might be kind of cool. I was wrong. The lighting is weird at all points of the hallway and it just doesn't work. Soooo... do any of you have good hallway decor ideas? Or strategies for getting out of a blogging rut?

  2. I love that dress Annie!
Have you seen that one commercial (it is either a paint commercial or it might be a lowles/home depot commercial) Where that lady paints the ceiling a pretty purple color? I thought that looked really cool and now I kinda want to keep all the walls white and paint the ceiling a fun color. Also a cool art wall would be nice or hand some banners/bunting! Whatever you do I am sure it is going to look fantastic!!

  3. I think as the weather gets nice out, it happens to the best of us! What if you just indulge yourself; go some where you love and just soak it in for a while, taking photos. I'm sure you'll have plenty of content then!

  6. I know how you feel girl...I took a week or so off from blogging and it didn't really help my rut. I posted again for the first time today. The longer I wasn't blogging...the less I wanted to blog. I sat down to "force" myself to write because I hadn't picked up my computer in over a week and I didn't want to! But once I started after the break...it just sort of fell into place and I was glad I did. I missed my blogging "family" and seeing what they were up to!

Maybe a break is a good thing...as long as you can get back into it! It was hard!

PS - your new apt looks lovely...love the light and the floors! I'm no help with hallway decor...my hallways are boring!

  8. I totally feel ya on the blogging rut! One thing I want to do, maybe I'll do that this long weekend... is sit down and write a few blog posts that I just have saved as drafts. Then when I'm not feeling inspired, I'll have some back up posts that I still love to put up!

Something else I would suggest is checking out Campfire Chic's 365. For 5$ she has TONS and TONS (365, to be specific!) ideas for blog posts. SO helpful & you will come up with a bunch on top of those. You could use those as ideas for those "draft" posts.

ALSO, for your hallway you should totally do a photo wall!! Filled with art & photos of all different shapes & sizes! It will inspire you when you look at it every day! :)
