Vintage Shopping and Facing Fears

This weekend, I went thrifting with friends and bought a couple of cute vintage dresses that I plan to sell in my vintage shop. This dress was one of them, but I thought I should try it out first, as it is one of my biggest outfit fears - a long skirt. It's not quite a maxi dress, but almost. And I've never thought I could pull off that look, so I wanted to see for myself. I also tend to shy away from dangly earrings, so this outfit was a real wardrobe triumph.

Other looks I'm "afraid of" but hope to try out sometime soon:

  • shorts with tights
  • knee-high socks
  • turban headbands
  • color blocking
  • large hair bows
  • patterned tights
  • denim jackets
  • blazers with casual outfits
Maybe they won't work out. Maybe they will. But it can't hurt to try, right?

Outfit Details:
Dress and Belt: Vintage
Shoes: Payless
Purse: Thrifted
Sunglasses: F21
Earrings: Gift from Thailand
Necklace: Handmade

  15. I tried two things: "skinny" jeans and leggings and found out that I loved them and they weren't as scary as I thought.

Try a denim jacket, I love mine and it goes with just about anything.

  18. Such a pretty dress! I've still for a list of 'fashion-fears' to tackle, long dresses, floral tights, and casual blazers among them. Still too scared to get started xD But you've given me some inspiration, indeed!

  19. I love your list of fears! We have a few in common, in fact. I do love wearing a blazer with casual outfits. I have a white cotton one seems to go with everything. Start with a basic, says me. :)

  20. I LOVE big bows and feathers for your hair but just can't pull it off. Not sure if that counts for being SCARED though. It's just a fact. I can't do it.
I DO love shorts with knee high boots though...my hubby tells me "no no no" but I think it's cute! Tights with shorts I'd be interested in seeing! I never thought of that! TFS!
