I love Polaroids. I know that's really cliche and everything, but I can't help it. I grew up with Polaroid cameras and Polaroid photographs, so seeing them now just brings an instant smile to my face. Unfortunately with the shortage of film, real Polaroids are really hard to come by. There are a lot of websites and apps that allow you to add a Polaroid frame to your photos (I've used them before, but none of them are that great). I miss the sound of the camera and waiting for the photo to develop.
While no web app can really accurately recreate the Polaroid experience, I did stumble across one that came fairly close. Poladroid is a free download you can install to add a Polaroid feel to your photos. Notice I said "feel" not "frame." Yes, the photos are slightly blurry and a little less bright than your originals. In addition, once you drag your photos to the Poladroid icon, it makes that neat Polaroid camera sound, and then you have to wait while your photo develops, seeing it change slowly but surely. I played around with a few photos, and I think I'm a fan. It's still not quite the same as a good old fashioned camera, but it's the best internet alternative I've come across so far.
What have you been up to this weekend?
